Gingerbread House Extravaganza

We had a big Gingerbread House Decorating Day after school today! This activity is one of the newer traditions that we have adopted the last couple of years :) Because of time, I had the houses "built" while the kids were in school. So... after the kids got home and thoroughly scrubbed their hands and finger nails under hot soapy water for two full minutes, the fun began :)

The kids worked so hard to make their creations!!! The boys made some sort of gingerbread battle ground with fighter jets and soldiers and other "amazing" stuff :) Abby, on the other hand, made Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus -- Peace on Earth. Hmmm...

Isaac's battle fort

Mary (in red), Joseph (in green) and Baby Jesus (in the manger)!

TADA... the finished products! Much better than a kit... don't you think??? :)

Random footage of the Gingerbread House decorating process, followed by the kids' "show and tell" of their creations:

SUGAR HIGH! Their houses are wonderful. You must have used some really strong frosting/glue to make them stay together so well. Such creativity, too. Great job kids.
