Kite Flying Fun

I haven't had much time to sit and blog... but while we were working on getting the house picked up and "cleaned up", my children decided to take an unscheduled break and fly kites. What?!? Before this BMOM (aka big mean ogre mom) can yell out, "No! No break for you!!!", they were all already out the door and running all around, giggling like little kids (oh... they are little kids!).

I would have never guessed that those cheap thin kites can actually fly and offer so much endless fun... in the back yard! I am thankful that my children enjoy playing together... especially in the midst of adversity (mom making them clean the house!).

Alice, please teach these sweet children about the importance of a "tail" on their kites. We used to make them from torn up sheets. Ask Cindy -- maybe she remembers. They sure are enjoying themselves -- and getting out of chores! Oh, to be a kid again and get out of my chores!

Al, you know what's sweet about this? That BMOM was able to put aside the chores for a few minutes and enjoy her kids' childhood long enough to actually take pictures AND a video to capture these precious times! You are an amazing mom! Love you!

Alice~ You go girl!!! We all get so busy with the everyday and we sometimes forget to just live. I am proud of you for teaching your children the importance of chores, something that will make them a better person as they grow. I am also proud of you as the BMOM and taking time to soak up these special moments of childhood. The moments when your children run free, they play, they enjoy being together. What a great moment. It makes me want to sing the song from Mary Poppins, Let's Go Fly A Kite! Love you and your precious children.
